念佛为宗

意谓‘以念佛为主要法门之宗派’。即以念诵佛号为修持法门，并以观无量寿经为本据之宗。此系唐代善导所判立者。此宗以观无量寿经中之‘念佛三昧’为大旨，奉行释迦教，藉‘回向愿求’而欣求往生净土。（参阅‘念观两宗’3222）
